Biography

Chuanxian Wei is a Postdoc in the Sino-French Hoffmann Institute, School of Basic Medical Sciences, Guangzhou Medical University in Guangzhou, China. He received his undergraduate with bachelor's degree from University of Science and Technology of China (USTC), Hefei, and a Ph.D. from the Institute of Biophysics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing, China.

During Dr.Wei's training in his Ph.D program, he used Drosophila to study the mechanisms of how cell proloferation and differentiation are regulated by lipid metabolism and other signaling pathways, e.g. Hippo, JNK and Insulin pathways. As a part of his Ph.D program, he joined Dr. Jun Ma's lab in Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center to investigate the mechanism of meteral origins of Bicoid scaling formation in embronic development. Now he works as a Postdoc in Sino-French Hoffmann Institute, and his reseach interest is focused on the role of protein lipidation on innate immune regulation, not only in Drosophila, but also in mammals.
