Biography

Daisuke Nishiura received the Ph.D. (Engineering) from Doshisha University in 2008, where he studied particle simulation method in powder engineering process. He has worked as a researcher in Japan Agency for Marine-Earth Science and Technology to serve as an integral member of team developing and applying a high performance computing method for particle simulation. He has developed large scale simulation code of SPH, DEM, and SPH-DEM coupled method using GPU, K-computer, and Earth simulator. He has contributed to not only clarification of non linear phenomena in dynamics of fluid and granular materials but also application of simulation technology to powder industry, civil engineering, and earth science.
