Biography

Dr. Xiaojing Lai is a tenure-track associate professor at the Gemmological Institute, China University of Geosciences (Wuhan). Xiaojing received her bachelor's degree from Guilin University of Technology, China, master's degree from Peking University, China, and Ph.D. degree from the University of Hawaii at Manoa, USA.

During her master study, Xiaojing worked on the high-pressure crystal chemistry of A2B3-type materials. In her Ph.D. degree programs, her major focus is high-pressure and high-temperature experiments on Fe-C system to study the carbon in deep Earth. After that, she continued her Ph.D. research as a research associate at the University of Hawaii at Manoa. In 2019, she joined the China University of Geosciences (Wuhan) as a tenure-track associate professor. Now her research interest is the deep carbon and hydrogen cycles as well as the synthesis and enhancement of gemstone by high-pressure and high-temperature techniques.
