Jonathan P. Fadok

Jonathan Fadok is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychology at Tulane University where he is also a faculty member of the Tulane Brain Institute. He received his Ph.D. in Neurobiology and Behavior from the University of Washington, where his dissertation research in Richard Palmiter's laboratory was supported by a Ruth L. Kirschstein National Research Service Award. He completed his postdoctoral fellowship in Andreas Luthi's lab at the Friedrich Miescher Institute for Biomedical Research in Basel, Switzerland. This work was funded in part by a long-term fellowship grant from the European Molecular Biology Organization and a NARSAD Young Investigator Award from the Brain and Behavior Research Foundation. Jonathan’s current research program is focused on understanding how the brain controls emotional states and adaptive behavior, especially those related to fear and anxiety. Work in his laboratory incorporates large-scale in vivo recordings of neuronal activity, targeted manipulations of neurobiological function, as well as cell-type specific neuroanatomical tracing techniques.
