Brendan J. Kelly

Brendan is a graduate student in the lab of Dr. Sarah Short at the Ohio State University's Department of Entomology. He studies the effects of mating on the immune competence of female Aedes aegypti mosquitoes. Prior to joining Dr. Short, Brendan worked with Dr. Geoff Findlay at the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, MA where he received his bachelor's degree in biology. With Dr. Findlay, he studied the role of de novo evolved genes in the fertility of male Drosophila fruit flies.
