Biography

Brook Jensen has been an evolutionary biology PhD student in the Huijben lab at Arizona State University (ASU) since the fall of 2019. She completed a Bachelor of Science degree in biology with a minor in chemistry at California State University Stanislaus with cum laude honors in the spring of 2019.

Jensen’s research at ASU explores the resistance levels and fitness costs of insecticide resistance, using Aedes aegypti (mosquitoes) as a model organism. Additionally, she applies her work to mathematical modeling to improve evolutionary predictions for insecticide resistance persistence stemming from various resistance management strategies. Jensen is expected to graduate from ASU in May 2024 and plans to continue her scientific career with postdoctoral studies.
