Biography

During my PhD I focused on the development of biosensors for environmental monitoring. This led me to develop one of the Cas9-based gene editing systems that works at higher temperatures in bacteria. During my first Post Doc I worked on the characterisation of enzymes for the degradation and valorisation of agri-food waste. And now in my second Post Doc I will work on the genetic code expansion and evolution of a novel type of bacterial tRNA-synthetase.
