Elizabeth M. Bailey

Elizabeth Bailey is a postdoctoral fellow working in the Department of Pathology at the University of New Mexico Health Science Center.

Dr. Bailey’s g research interests blends bio-imaging with quantitative biology to understand the biophysical properties that govern immune cell signaling pathways and inform immunotherapy. Her graduate work focused on understanding membrane curvature in relation to FcγRI:IgG clustering during frustrated phagocytosis as well as understanding how spatiotemporal organization of the FcγRI impacts activation. This work incorporated fluorescent imaging techniques such as TIRF microscopy and single molecule tracking. Shortly after starting as a postdoctoral fellow at the University of New Mexico, Elizabeth joined the NIH IRACDA program. As a postdoc, she studies the role of PD-1 in T cell activation/inhibition, which has led to her becoming proficient in the Single Molecule Pull Down (SiMPull) method.
