Biography

Brian Juber received his doctorate in medicine from the University of South Dakota Sanford School of Medicine, after which he completed a residency in pediatrics at Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago. He is currently in his final year as a neonatal-perinatal medicine fellow at the University of Iowa. Dr. Juber has a variety of research experience, involving DNA repair mechanisms in algae, group A streptococcus/influenza super-infection, as well as several clinical research experiences. In his neonatal-perinatal medicine fellowship, his research focus involved investigating the effects of fetal exposure to maternal inflammation (FEMI), which occurs in cases of antenatal chorioamnionitis, on offspring. Specifically, his focus centered on delineating the underlying mechanisms between the association between chorioamnionitis and later development of necrotizing enterocolitis (NEC). Following completion of fellowship, Dr. Juber has accepted a position as Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Nebraska Medical Center and Children's Hospital & Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska.
