Biography

Dr. Becnel is a Research Entomologist (retired, Affiliate) in the USDA/ARS Mosquito and Fly Research Unit, Gainesville Florida with more than 40 years professional experience in the entomological sciences primarily related to control of mosquitoes. Dr. Becnel’s research has made contributions to the fields of Medical Entomology, Toxicology and Invertebrate Pathology including virology, microsporidiology and protistology both nationally and internationally. Dr. Becnel is the author or co-author of more than 200 technical publications (175 refereed journals, 15 book chapters, 22 proceedings, 2 patents). He has received more than 60 Special Invitations on a broad range of topics related to control of mosquitoes.
