Biography

Rodrigo Barros is a Ph.D. student at RedBioLab, Department of Health, Animal Science and Food Safety, University of Milan (Italy). He received his undergraduate degree in veterinary from São Paulo State University (Brazil) and a master’s degree in animal biotechnology from São Paulo State University (Brazil).

Currently, he is researching techniques to improve the culture conditions of the female gamete following them from early stages until later stages of development, focusing on the mechanisms involved during the development of the female gamete. During his master’s (2014 – 2016) at the laboratory of molecular ovarian physiology, from São Paulo State University (Brazil), he studied the role of basic fibroblast growth factor during the in vitro maturation of oocytes, using the bovine as a model.
