It is well known that damage to the hippocampal formation (Ammon's horn, dentate gyrus, fimbria-fornix, and other pathways) produces impairments in spatial navigation and in certain forms of learning. Lesions within these structures have also been reported to produce some motor impairments, but the nature of these impairments is less understood. The present study examined the effects of fimbria-fornix lesions on food wrenching and dodging, social interactions that occur when one rat attempts to steal food from a conspecific, who in turn attempts to protect the food by an evasive movement. Lesion effectiveness was confirmed histologically and electrophysiologically, by the loss of hippocampal rhythmical slow-wave activity (RSA or theta), and by changes in open field behavior (increased open field behavior, less thigmotaxis and more defecation). Analysis of the social interaction indicated when an eating control rat was approached by a conspecific that was attempting to steal its food, it prevented the theft by dodging, a rapid lateral maneuver involving forequarter turning and stepping with the rear limbs. Rats with fimbria-fornix lesions were significantly impaired in dodging and so were more likely to lose their food to the robber. This novel deficit in motor behavior is discussed in relation to contemporary theories of hippocampal function and it is suggested that the deficit may be caused by an inability of the fimbria-fornix damaged animals to disengage attention from eating in order to initiate an evasive movement to protect food. The finding of this novel deficit underscores the importance of considering both loss as well as release phenomena in the analysis of hippocampal formation function.

Impaired dodging in food-conflict following fimbria-fornix transection in rats: a novel hippocampal formation deficit.

Il est bien connu que les dommages &#xE0; la formation hippocampique (corne d&#x26;#39;Ammon, gyrus dent&#xE9;, fimbria-fornix, et d&#x26;#39;autres voies) produit une d&#xE9;ficience dans la navigation spatiale et dans certaines formes d&#x26;#39;apprentissage. Les l&#xE9;sions au sein de ces structures ont &#xE9;galement &#xE9;t&#xE9; signal&#xE9;s pour produire certaines d&#xE9;ficiences motrices, mais la nature de ces troubles est moins bien compris. La pr&#xE9;sente &#xE9;tude a examin&#xE9; les effets de fimbria-fornix l&#xE9;sions sur les produits alimentaires d&#xE9;chirants et en esquivant, les interactions sociales qui se produisent lorsque l&#x26;#39;on tente de voler la nourriture de rats &#xE0; partir d&#x26;#39;une m&#xEA;me esp&#xE8;ce, qui, dans les tentatives tour pour prot&#xE9;ger les aliments par un geste &#xE9;vasif. L&#x26;#39;efficacit&#xE9; des l&#xE9;sions a &#xE9;t&#xE9; confirm&#xE9; histologiquement et &#xE9;lectrophysiologique, par la perte de l&#x26;#39;hippocampe rythmique activit&#xE9; &#xE0; ondes lentes (RSA ou th&#xEA;ta), et par des changements dans le comportement en plein champ (augmentation des comportements en plein champ, moins thigmotaxis et plus la d&#xE9;f&#xE9;cation). Analyse de l&#x26;#39;interaction sociale a indiqu&#xE9; quand un rat t&#xE9;moin manger a &#xE9;t&#xE9; approch&#xE9; par un cong&#xE9;n&#xE8;re qui tentait de voler sa nourriture, il a emp&#xEA;ch&#xE9; le vol en esquivant, une man&#x153;uvre rapide lat&#xE9;rale impliquant quartier avant le tournage et pas &#xE0; pas avec les membres post&#xE9;rieurs. Les rats ayant fimbria-fornix l&#xE9;sions ont &#xE9;t&#xE9; consid&#xE9;rablement r&#xE9;duite dans les esquivant et &#xE9;taient donc plus susceptibles de perdre leur nourriture pour le voleur. Ce d&#xE9;ficit roman dans le comportement moteur est discut&#xE9;e en relation avec les th&#xE9;ories contemporaines de la fonction hippocampique et il est sugg&#xE9;r&#xE9; que le d&#xE9;ficit peut &#xEA;tre caus&#xE9;e par une incapacit&#xE9; des animaux fimbria-fornix endommag&#xE9;es de se d&#xE9;sengager l&#x26;#39;attention de manger afin d&#x26;#39;initier un mouvement d&#x26;#39;&#xE9;vitement afin de prot&#xE9;ger alimentaire. Le constat de ce d&#xE9;ficit roman souligne l&#x26;#39;importance de tenir compte &#xE0; la fois la perte ainsi que les ph&#xE9;nom&#xE8;nes de lib&#xE9;ration dans l&#x26;#39;analyse de la fonction formation hippocampique.

Esquiver avec facult&#xE9;s affaiblies dans les aliments d&#x26;#39;un conflit suite Fimbria-fornix Transection chez le rat: un d&#xE9;ficit de formation hippocampique Novel

Beeintr&#xE4;chtigte Schwarzfahren in Essen-Konflikt nach Fimbria-Fornix-Durchtrennung bei Ratten: A Novel Hippocampusformation Defizit.

&Egrave; ben noto che danni alla formazione ippocampale (corno di Ammon, giro dentato, fimbria-fornice e altri percorsi) produce disabilit&agrave; nella navigazione spaziale e in alcune forme di apprendimento. Lesioni all&#39;interno di queste strutture sono state segnalate anche per produrre alcuni motorie, ma la natura di questi disturbi &egrave; meno capita. Il presente studio ha esaminato gli effetti delle lesioni fimbria-fornice sul cibo straziante e schivare interazioni sociali che si verificano quando un ratto tenta di rubare l&#39;alimento da una sua conspecifica, che a sua volta tenta di proteggere gli alimenti da un movimento evasivo. L&#39;efficacia della lesione &egrave; stata confermata istologicamente e destre, dalla perdita di hippocampal ritmiche onde lente attivit&agrave; (RSA o theta) e da cambiamenti nel comportamento del campo aperto (comportamento maggiore campo aperto, meno tigmotassia e defecazione pi&ugrave;). Analisi dell&#39;interazione sociale indicano quando fu avvicinato un ratto di controllo mangiando dalla sua conspecifica che stava tentando di rubare il cibo, ha impedito il furto da schivare, una rapida manovra laterale che comportano rotazione anteriore e avanzando con gli arti posteriori. Ratti con lesioni fimbria-fornice erano significativamente alterati a schivare e cos&igrave; avevano pi&ugrave; probabili di perdere il loro cibo per il ladro. Questo romanzo deficit nel comportamento di motore &egrave; discusso in relazione alle teorie contemporanee della funzione ippocampale e si suggerisce che il deficit pu&ograve; essere causato da un&#39;incapacit&agrave; degli animali fimbria-fornice danneggiato per sganciare attenzione da mangiare al fine di avviare un movimento evasivo a proteggere gli alimenti. Es bien sabido que los da&#xF1;os en la formaci&#xF3;n del hipocampo (asta de Ammon, el giro dentado, la fimbria-f&#xF3;rnix, y otras v&#xED;as) produce alteraciones en la navegaci&#xF3;n espacial y en ciertas formas de aprendizaje. Las lesiones en estas estructuras tambi&#xE9;n se han reportado para producir algunas deficiencias motoras, pero la naturaleza de estas alteraciones se entiende menos. El presente estudio examin&#xF3; los efectos de la fimbria-f&#xF3;rnix lesiones en los alimentos desgarradores y esquivando, las interacciones sociales que se producen cuando se intenta rata de robar alimentos de una misma especie, que a su vez intenta proteger a los alimentos por un movimiento evasivo. La eficacia de la lesi&#xF3;n fue confirmada histol&#xF3;gicamente y electrofisiol&#xF3;gicamente, por la p&#xE9;rdida de hipocampo r&#xED;tmica actividad de ondas lentas (RSA o theta), y por los cambios en el comportamiento en campo abierto (el comportamiento de aumento de campo abierto, menos thigmotaxis y m&#xE1;s defecaci&#xF3;n). An&#xE1;lisis de la interacci&#xF3;n social indicado cuando una rata control de comer se acerc&#xF3; a un cong&#xE9;nere que se estaba tratando de robar su comida, se lo impidi&#xF3; el robo, esquivando, una maniobra r&#xE1;pida lateral con involucraci&#xF3;n de cuarto delantero de giro y con la intensificaci&#xF3;n de las extremidades traseras. Las ratas con fimbria-f&#xF3;rnix lesiones fueron significativamente alterada en esquivar y por lo tanto eran m&#xE1;s propensos a perder su comida al ladr&#xF3;n. Este d&#xE9;ficit de la novela en el comportamiento del motor se discuten en relaci&#xF3;n a las teor&#xED;as contempor&#xE1;neas de la funci&#xF3;n del hipocampo y se sugiere que el d&#xE9;ficit puede ser causado por la incapacidad de los animales fimbria-f&#xF3;rnix da&#xF1;adas para desenganchar la atenci&#xF3;n de comer a fin de iniciar un movimiento evasivo para proteger alimentos. El hallazgo de este d&#xE9;ficit de la novela pone de relieve la importancia de considerar tanto la p&#xE9;rdida, as&#xED; como los fen&#xF3;menos de liberaci&#xF3;n en el an&#xE1;lisis de la funci&#xF3;n de formaci&#xF3;n del hipocampo.
