At the time of this publication, Jacky Ko Chia Yi is a fourth year medical student with a focused research interest in immunology, rheumatology, and the biology of aging. His scientific work began with cell-based immunocytochemistry, leading to the publication of “Detection of Anti-MDA5 Autoantibodies Using HeLa Cells and Immunocytochemistry with Light Microscopy.” This project strengthened his expertise in antibody detection, microscopy, and translational immunopathology. He is particularly interested in how immune dysregulation, chronic inflammation, and cellular senescence contribute to autoimmune disease and age-related decline. His long-term goal is to integrate fundamental immunology with clinical medicine to develop strategies that restore immune balance and extend healthy human lifespan.
