Prioritizing areas and targets, coordinated with development gaps, is necessary to achieve the sustainable development goals (SDGs) in the face of resource limitations resulting from coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). The SDG interlinkages further exacerbate the difficulty inherent in addressing these goals. However, previous studies failed to consider the indicator interlinkages in the process of aggregate performance assessments and thus cannot identify priorities based on indicator interlinkages and development gaps. This study integrated network analysis and the technique for order of preference by similarity to ideal solution (TOPSIS) method to convert indicator interlinkages into indicator weights and then assessed the aggregate performance of the SDGs. Subsequently, the prioritized provinces and indicators were identified at the subnational level of China based on the aggregate performance of the SDGs, SDG growth rate and indicator interlinkages. The per capita net income of rural residents (2.3.2), the proportion of people living below 50% of the median income (10.2.1), and the under-five mortality rate (3.2.1) were the most contributing indicators to the aggregate performance of the SDGs, while the common challenges dealt with SDG 16, SDG 6, SDG 7 and SDG 12. Moreover, accelerating the development of western provinces would make it possible to overcome the traditional imbalance status, while resource-driven provinces should be paid special attention due to their poor aggregate performance of the SDGs and their lower growth rate. Thus, a coordinating strategy is highly recommended for allocating resources to the priority targets and finally achieving the SDGs.

Thalamic ataxia syndrome is a rare but severely disabling condition resulting from thalamic lesions, characterized by persistent motor incoordination that frequently fails to respond to conventional rehabilitation therapies. Given the lack of effective treatment options and the profound impact on patients' quality of life, this study aimed to evaluate the efficacy of local botulinum toxin type A (BoNT-A) injections as a potential breakthrough treatment for improving motor control and daily living activities in patients with thalamic ataxia. This investigation represents the first clinical application of BoNT-A specifically targeting thalamic ataxia, offering new hope for treatment-resistant cases.

Neurological disorders (e.g., Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease, and stroke) have complex pathogenesis and affect a substantial proportion of the population; yet, available treatments have poor or limited efficacy, and the patients have a poor prognosis, with high morbidity and mortality. Dihydromyricetin (DHM), a flavonoid compound extracted from plants, has received widespread attention in recent years because of its diverse pharmacological effects.  and  studies have revealed its substantial antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and neuroprotective properties, making it a promising candidate for the treatment of central nervous system disorders through multiple mechanisms and pleiotropic effects. Therefore, there is an urgent need to develop novel therapeutic strategies. DHM is an attractive candidate for the management of neurological disorders, but there is a lack of a systematic summary of the knowledge status and gaps. Therefore, to address this challenge, we systematically reviewed the pharmacological mechanisms of DHM in central nervous system disorders and its potential applications in related conditions. We analyzed the therapeutic potential and current challenges of DHM to provide a reference for its development and application as a novel therapeutic agent. The review suggests that DHM possesses significant potential for the management of neurological disorders.

Oxidative stress (OS) significantly contributes to male reproductive dysfunction, a factor implicated in a substantial fraction of infertility cases. This comprehensive review elucidates the intricate interplay between oxidative stress and male reproductive health, emphasizing the molecular and cellular mechanisms through which reactive oxygen species (ROS) impair sperm function. Key areas of focus include lipid peroxidation of sperm membranes, DNA damage, and apoptotic cell death, which collectively undermine sperm viability and fertility potential. The discussion extends to the impact of lifestyle and environmental factors on oxidative balance, highlighting how these elements intensify oxidative stress and subsequently exacerbate reproductive outcomes. Advances in therapeutic approaches are critically assessed, particularly the development and application of antioxidants in ameliorating oxidative damage and restoring reproductive functions. This review also explores innovative diagnostic techniques for detecting ROS and assessing oxidative damage within clinical settings, offering insights into future directions for research and clinical practice in managing male infertility related to oxidative stress.

Ganoderma lucidum (G. lucidum) has been used in traditional Chinese medicine for centuries to enhance vitality and support organ function. It has been traditionally used to manage chronic inflammation, fatigue, and toxin-induced organ injury. Its polysaccharide-rich extracts possess immunomodulatory and antioxidant properties, attracting growing interest in kidney protection research.
