Extended lymphadenectomy during esophagectomy for esophageal cancer may increase survival, but also increase morbidity. This study analyses the influence of lymph node yield after transthoracic esophagectomy for esophageal adenocarcinoma on the number of positive lymph nodes, pathological N-stage, complications and survival.
