Biography
Dr. Khaing has expertise in the areas of plasticity and regeneration within the adult central nervous system after injury and in aging. Of particular interest are 1) acute physiology and vascular changes to the spinal cord after injury, 2) the role of inflammation, 3) formation of scar tissue, and 4) stem cells, all in the context of developing therapeutic strategies. Dr. Khaing and her team are committed to identifying novel targets and developing clinically relevant strategies with the ultimate goal of improving patients’ outcomes.
