在羟醛加成反应中,生成的β-羟基醛在α碳上含有弱酸性氢原子。

在强碱中加热羟醛产物可使平衡向前移动,从而促进脱水反应生成烯醛。

至于脱水机制,该过程分为两个明确的步骤:烯醇化和消除反应。

第一步中,碱夺取α碳上的氢原子,生成烯醇负离子中间体——即共轭碱。

第二步涉及通过E1cB消除反应失去氢氧根离子,从而形成稳定的烯醛作为最终产物。其中,“E”代表消除,“1”代表单分子反应,“cB”代表共轭碱。

立体化学起着至关重要的作用。在该烯醛的顺式(cis)和反式(trans)立体异构体中,由于空间位阻相互作用较少,反式(trans)异构体的形成更有利。
