共基极电路配置的电流增益在输入信号的低频段保持恒定,但在超过某一特定频率(称为截止频率)后会逐渐衰减。
α的截止频率是指电流增益为低频电流增益的0.707倍时所对应的频率。
类似地,共发射极配置的 beta 截止频率也有定义。该截止频率远小于 alpha 截止频率。
共发射极增益的幅度变为1时所对应的频率称为过渡截止频率。过渡截止频率略低于α截止频率。
过渡频率也可以用载流子从发射极传输到集电极所需的总时间来表示。这包括发射极延迟时间、基区渡越时间和集电极渡越时间。
最关键的延迟时间是基区渡越时间,即少数载流子穿越基区所需的时间。
为了缩短这一传输时间,高频晶体管被设计成具有较窄的基区宽度。
