Concrete Wear Tests and Surface Durability

Concrete wear tests show how well a surface can stand up to abrasion and long-term use. Abrasion is the wearing away of a material by rubbing, scraping, or contact with moving solids. This property matters because concrete surfaces can lose material under vehicle traffic or when solids carried in water brush against them.
