How Concrete Is Preloaded for Strength

Prestressed concrete is a construction method that preloads concrete so it can handle more stress. High-strength steel strands are stretched before or after the concrete is loaded in service. The goal is to put the concrete into compression. That compression helps balance the tension the structure will face later.

先张法首先将钢绞线在浇筑区域进行张拉。然后在钢绞线周围浇筑混凝土并使其养护固化，最后切断钢绞线，使混凝土处于受压状态，从而导致梁体略微向上拱起。

在后张法中，钢绞线被套在套管内，以防止与混凝土粘结。

这些钢束仅在混凝土达到足够强度后，通过一端的液压千斤顶张拉并在另一端锚固，使混凝土受压，从而在梁中产生拱度。
