Questionnaire Assessment

Questionnaire assessment is the systematic evaluation of a questionnaire’s quality, interpretability, and ability to measure behavioral attitudes, experiences, or actions accurately. It examines how questions are understood and answered, using processes such as item review, response analysis, reliability testing, and validity assessment to identify ambiguity, bias, or inconsistent measurement. In behavior research, this assessment helps determine whether a questionnaire captures the intended construct and produces data suitable for comparing individuals, groups, or conditions. Careful evaluation strengthens study design, supports more credible conclusions about behavior, and guides refinement of instruments for clinical, educational, organizational, and social research.

2015

Streambank erosion potential can be evaluated and ranked using David Rosgen’s Bank Erosion Hazard Index (BEHI), however this protocol has significant limitations. Here we present protocol modifications to address time constraints, allow nonprofessionals to complete accurate assessments, and account for non-alluvial stream conditions in Northeast Ohio.

Qualitative and Quantitative Validation of Tools with Rating Scales Aimed at Assessing the Quality of University Service-Learning

2025

This paper outlines the protocol for qualitatively and quantitatively validating a university service-learning instrument, following the parsimony criterion to create the most robust and optimal version possible. The Delphi qualitative validation method and Robust Unweighted Least Squares Exploratory Factor Analysis, as a quantitative item optimization method, are utilized for this purpose.

Here, we present a comprehensive behavioral test battery, including the novel tank, Shoaling, and social preference tests, to effectively determine the potential neurotoxic effects of chemicals (e.g., methamphetamine and glyphosate) on adult zebrafish using a single tank. This method is relevant to neurotoxicity and environmental research.

We developed a protocol to assess well-being in mice during procedures using general anesthesia. A series of behavioral parameters indicating levels of well-being as well as glucocorticoid metabolites were analyzed. The protocol can serve as a general aid to estimate the degree of severity in a scientific, animal-centered manner.

Source: Madeline Lassche, MSNEd, RN and Katie Baraki, MSN, RN, College of Nursing, University of Utah, UT After peripheral intravenous (IV) access is initiated, it is important to assess and maintain the IV catheter according to institutional policies and nursing standards of practice. The regular assessment of the insertion site and the surrounding areas for signs of complications is necessary to prevent IV catheter complications, including infiltration, phlebitis, infection, extravasation, or...
