Hkust-1@mof-5

HKUST-1@MOF-5 is a composite metal-organic framework that combines HKUST-1, a copper-based porous material, with MOF-5, a zinc-based porous framework, to integrate their distinct structural and chemical properties. It forms through coordination-driven assembly of metal ions or clusters with organic linkers, creating interconnected microporous networks and an interface between the two frameworks that can influence pore accessibility, adsorption, and molecular transport. In chemistry research, this architecture supports the design of tunable materials for gas adsorption and separation, catalysis, sensing, and controlled guest-molecule interactions, while offering a platform for studying how framework composition and interfaces affect porous-material performance.

2016

The conversion of trans-ferulic acid to vanillin was achieved by heterogeneous catalysis. HKUST-1 was employed in this synthesis and the essential step in the catalytic process was the generation of unsaturated metal sites. Thus, when the catalyst was activated under vacuum, full vanillin conversion (yield of 95%) was obtained.

Assembly of Porous Monolithic Materials Using a Pickering Emulsion Strategy Stabilized by Metal–Organic Framework (MOF) Particles

2026

This study successfully uses MIL-96(Al) Metal-Organic Frameworks particles to stabilize Pickering emulsions, which serve as templates to form mechanically robust, hierarchically porous monolithic materials. This method allows scalable MOF shaping while preserving crystal integrity. Tuning formulation is key to controlling pore size, interconnectivity, permeability, and robustness.

5-Number Summary

2023

In a dataset, the 5-number summary includes the minimum data value, the data value of the first quartile, the median data value or data value of the second quartile, the data value of the third quartile, and the maximum data value. These 5 data values can be visualized as a box and whisker plot. In a box plot, the minimum and maximum data values represent the lower and upper whiskers in the graph, and the median is designated as the center of the box in the chart. The first quartile and third...

The 5 c's of Pricing

2024

The 5 Cs of pricing provide a comprehensive framework for strategic pricing decisions. They include: Company Objectives: The company's goals are pivotal in determining pricing. Whether the aim is to maximize profit, increase market share, or survive in a competitive market, it will directly influence the pricing strategy. Cost: It involves calculating the total cost of producing a product or service, including fixed and variable costs. Pricing must cover these costs and provide a reasonable...
