Transmittance Measurement

Transmittance measurement quantifies how much light passes through a sample relative to the incident light, making it a fundamental method for characterizing substances in chemistry. A spectrophotometer directs selected wavelengths through a sample and compares the transmitted intensity with a reference, reporting transmittance as a ratio or percentage; absorbance can then be calculated from this value. Because dissolved compounds absorb specific wavelengths, transmittance measurements help identify chemical species and determine concentrations using calibration curves or the Beer–Lambert law. The technique supports quantitative analysis, reaction monitoring, quality control, and characterization of solutions, films, and other materials.

2011

A surgical technique for implantation of commercially available telemetry transmitters used for continuous measurement of biopotential (one-lead ECG), heart rate, core body temperature and locomotor activity in freely moving mice is shown. Recommendations and protocols for post-operative care and pain relief, improving recovery, well being and survival rate are also presented.

Estimate the Cognitive Load Using Electrocardiographic Measure: A Human-AI Collaborative Task

2025

This protocol describes the use of physiological indicators to measure variations in cognitive load across different task difficulty levels in human-AI collaborative tasks. The findings suggest that people adapt their decision-making processes according to task difficulty, thereby reflecting different levels of cognitive load.

Optimized sampling protocols and the development of new wipe materials can be facilitated by standardized measurements of collection efficiency from wipe-sampling. Our approach for sampling trace explosives uses an automated device to control speed, force, and distance during wipe-sampling followed by extraction of collected explosives.
