Micro Well Drilling

Micro well drilling is an engineering technique for producing small, precisely positioned cylindrical cavities in a solid substrate, enabling compact structures and controlled access to its interior. It works by guiding a miniature cutting tool into the material while controlling tool diameter, rotational speed, feed rate, depth, and alignment to remove material without excessive deformation or breakage. Engineers use the resulting wells in microfluidic devices, semiconductor and MEMS fabrication, instrumentation, and other systems requiring high-density features. Reliable drilling improves dimensional accuracy, surface quality, and repeatability, supporting miniaturized devices and manufacturing processes where conventional machining lacks sufficient precision.
