Currency Conversion

Currency conversion is the process of expressing the value of one country’s money in another currency, making it essential for international trade, investment, travel, and macroeconomic analysis. It uses an exchange rate, which states how many units of one currency equal a unit of another; converting an amount requires multiplying or dividing by that rate according to the quotation convention. Exchange rates may be floating, shaped by supply and demand, interest rates, inflation, and capital flows, or fixed through policy. Tracking currency conversion helps assess trade balances, purchasing power, cross-border prices, and the effects of monetary and fiscal decisions.
