Tecan Freedom Evo

Tecan Freedom EVO is an automated liquid-handling workstation that performs repetitive laboratory tasks with controlled precision, improving consistency in medical research and diagnostic workflows. Its robotic arm and programmable pipetting system transfer samples and reagents between tubes, microplates, and other labware according to defined protocols, while integrated modules can support steps such as dilution, dispensing, and sample preparation. By reducing manual handling and standardizing high-throughput procedures, the platform helps laboratories process more samples with fewer variation-related errors. Applications include molecular biology, clinical research, drug development, and diagnostic assay preparation, where reliable automation supports reproducible results and efficient use of laboratory resources.

Degrees of Freedom

The degree of freedom for a particular statistical calculation is the number of values that are free to vary. Thus, the minimum number of independent numbers can specify a particular statistic. The degrees of freedom differ greatly depending on known and uncalculated statistical components. For example, suppose there are three unknown numbers whose mean is 10; although we can freely assign values to the first and second numbers, the value of the last number can not be arbitrarily assigned.

In mechanical engineering, one-degree-of-freedom systems form the basis of a wide range of electrical and mechanical components. Using these models, engineers can predict the behavior of various parts in a larger system, which gives them insight into how different forces interact with each other. A one-degree-of-freedom system is defined by an independent variable that determines its state and behavior. One example of a one-degree-of-freedom system is a simple harmonic oscillator, such as a...

A method is described to measure three-dimensional vestibulo ocular reflexes (3D VOR) in humans using a six degrees of freedom (6DF) motion simulator. The gain and misalignment of the 3D angular VOR provide a direct measure of the quality of vestibular function. Representative data on healthy subjects are...
