Trauma Care

Trauma care is the coordinated assessment and treatment of injuries caused by events such as accidents, violence, falls, or natural disasters, with the immediate goal of preventing death and disability. Clinicians use rapid triage and a structured primary survey to identify and stabilize threats to airway, breathing, circulation, neurological function, and environmental exposure before completing a detailed examination. Management may include hemorrhage control, airway support, resuscitation, diagnostic imaging, surgery, and monitored recovery. By integrating prehospital services, emergency medicine, critical care, rehabilitation, and prevention strategies, trauma care improves survival and supports functional recovery across a wide range of injuries.

Acute brain trauma is a severe injury that has no adequate treatment to date. Multiphoton microscopy allows studying longitudinally the process of acute brain trauma development and probing therapeutical strategies in rodents. Two models of acute brain trauma studied with in vivo two-photon imaging of brain are demonstrated in this protocol.
