Nasa Probe Failure

NASA probe failure refers to the loss or degradation of a robotic spacecraft’s ability to complete its mission, often because extreme space conditions expose weaknesses in power, thermal control, propulsion, navigation, communications, or software systems. Failures can begin with a single component fault, such as a sensor error or loss of electrical supply, then propagate through dependent systems and prevent command execution, data transmission, or scientific measurements. Studying these events applies physics, reliability engineering, and systems analysis to identify root causes, improve redundancy and fault tolerance, and design more resilient spacecraft. Lessons from unsuccessful missions also refine risk assessment and guide future planetary, lunar, and deep-space exploration.
