Lifespan Psychological Growth

Lifespan psychological growth is the lifelong process through which people’s thinking, emotions, behavior, identity, and relationships develop and change from infancy through late adulthood. It is shaped by interactions among biological maturation, learning, social relationships, culture, and changing environments, making development multidirectional rather than limited to childhood. Researchers examine continuity and change using longitudinal and cross-sectional methods, connecting developmental transitions and life experiences with adaptation, resilience, and well-being. This perspective informs education, parenting, mental-health care, aging research, and interventions that support healthy development across the lifespan.

Invertebrate Lifespan Quantification

2023

Many animals naturally stop growing upon reaching adulthood, after which they undergo aging or "senescence" until dying. The amount of time between an organism\'s birth and death is called its lifespan, which can be influenced by various biological and environmental factors. By exposing organisms to different growth conditions, scientists can better understand the factors affecting lifespan. Flies and worms are ideal organisms to perform such experiments, given their short generation time and...

These classes don’t have the same inherent appeal to students. This JoVE Psychology collection will help students vicariously watch the experiments being performed from start to finish, allowing them to gain exposure to over a dozen topics...
