Chemical Equations

Chemische Reaktionen beinhalten chemische Umwandlungen einer oder mehrerer Substanzen in verschiedene Materialien. Eine Reaktion wird üblicherweise durch eine chemische Gleichung dargestellt, die chemische Formeln verwendet, um die beteiligten Atome, Moleküle oder Verbindungen darzustellen. Es ist wichtig, nur die numerischen Koeffizienten zu ändern und nicht die numerischen Subskripte, die die Identität einer Verbindung definieren, während eine chemische Gleichung ausgeglichen wird. Allgemeine Richtlinien helfen, eine chemische Gleichung effizient zu veranschaulichen und anzupassen.Zum Beispiel wird die Verbrennung von flüssiger Benzoesäure unter Bildung von gasförmigem Kohlendioxid und Wasser zunächst mit einer chemischen Skelettformel dargestellt. Als nächstes werden die Atome ausgeglichen, indem zuerst die Atome innerhalb der Verbindungen eingestellt werden, gefolgt von den Atomen der freien Elemente. Die Einbeziehung der Koeffizienten sieben und drei vor den Formeln für Kohlendioxid und Wasser gleicht die Kohlenstoff-und Wasserstoffatome aus.Ein gebrochener Koeffizient von fünfzehn mal zwei gleicht die Sauerstoffatome aus. Fraktionskoeffizienten werden durch Multiplikation der vollständigen Gleichung mit dem Nenner in ganze Zahlen umgewandelt. Die kollektive Anzahl der Atome jedes Elements ist in einer ausgeglichenen Gleichung auf beiden Seiten gleich.In chemischen Gleichungen, die Reaktionen mit ionischen Verbindungen darstellen, werden zuerst die Kationen und dann die Anionen ausgeglichen. Polyatomare Ionen sind immer als Einheit ausgeglichen. Beispielsweise reagiert wässriges Aluminiumsulfat mit wässrigem Calciumhydroxid unter Bildung von festem Aluminiumhydroxid und festem Calciumsulfat.Mit Hilfe einer Skelettformel werden die Kationen von Aluminium und Kalzium ausgeglichen, gefolgt von den Anionen der mehratomigen Hydroxid-und Sulfat-Ionen. Zuletzt werden die Koeffizienten angepasst, um eine insgesamt ausgeglichene Gleichung zu erhalten.

Chemische Gleichungen stellen die Identitäten und relativen Mengen von Substanzen dar, die an einer chemischen Reaktion beteiligt sind. Die reagierenden Stoffe werden Reaktanten genannt und ihre Formeln stehen auf der linken Seite der Gleichung. Die durch die Reaktion entstehenden Stoffe werden Produkte genannt und ihre Formeln stehen auf der rechten Seite der Gleichung. Pluszeichen (+) trennen einzelne Reaktanten- und Produktformeln, und ein Pfeil (→) trennt die Reaktanten- und Produktseite (links und rechts) der Gleichung. Die relativen Zahlen der Reaktanten- und Produktspezies werden durch numerische Koeffizienten dargestellt, die unmittelbar links von jeder Formel platziert sind. Ein Koeffizient von 1 wird normalerweise nicht angezeigt. In einer chemischen Gleichung werden üblicherweise die kleinstmöglichen ganzzahligen Koeffizienten verwendet und als Verhältnisse interpretiert. Beispielsweise reagieren Methan und Sauerstoff zu Kohlendioxid und Wasser im Verhältnis 1:2:1:2.  <img alt="Eq1" src="https://www.jove.com/files/core/CDNSource/lessons/1019/1019_Equations-01.png" style="height: 40px;"> Das Verhältnis gibt an, dass die kleinstmöglichen Koeffizienten von Methan, Sauerstoff, Kohlendioxid und Wasser 1, 2, 1 bzw. 2 sind. Die Koeffizienten können im Hinblick auf jede Betragseinheit (Zahleneinheit) interpretiert werden, sodass diese Gleichung auf viele Arten korrekt gelesen werden kann, einschließlich: ich. Zu den Standardabkürzungen gehören „s“ für Feststoffe, „l“ für Flüssigkeiten, „g“ für Gase und „aq“ für in Wasser gelöste Stoffe. <h4>Ausgleichsgleichungen</h4> In einer ausgeglichenen Gleichung ist die Anzahl der Atome für jedes an der Reaktion beteiligte Element auf der Reaktanten- und Produktseite gleich, wodurch das Gesetz der Erhaltung der Materie erfüllt wird. Eine ausgeglichene Gleichung kann bestätigt werden, indem man die Anzahl der Atome auf beiden Seiten des Pfeils addiert und diese Summen vergleicht, um sicherzustellen, dass sie gleich sind. Beachten Sie, dass die Anzahl der Atome für ein bestimmtes Element berechnet wird, indem der Koeffizient einer beliebigen Formel, die dieses Element enthält, mit dem Index des Elements in der Formel multipliziert wird. Wenn ein Element in mehr als einer Formel auf einer bestimmten Seite der Gleichung vorkommt, muss die Anzahl der in jeder Formel dargestellten Atome berechnet und dann addiert werden. Chemical equations show the identities and relative amounts of substances in a chemical reaction. The substances that react are called reactants, and their formulas are written on the left side of the equation. The substances formed are called products, and their formulas are written on the right side. A plus sign (+) separates formulas on the same side, and an arrow (→) shows the change from reactants to products.

The numbers in a chemical equation are shown with coefficients. A coefficient is the number written in front of a formula. A coefficient of 1 is usually not written. The smallest whole-number coefficients are commonly used, and they work as ratios. For example, methane and oxygen react to form carbon dioxide and water in a 1:2:1:2 ratio.

That ratio can be read in more than one way. It can mean 1 methane molecule and 2 oxygen molecules make 1 carbon dioxide molecule and 2 water molecules. It can also mean 1 mole of methane molecules and 2 moles of oxygen molecules make 1 mole of carbon dioxide molecules and 2 moles of water molecules. Chemical equations may also include physical states after the formulas. Common state labels are s for solid, l for liquid, g for gas, and aq for substances dissolved in water.

A balanced chemical equation has the same number of atoms for each element on both sides. This follows the law of conservation of matter. To check balance, count the atoms on the reactant side and the product side and compare the totals. To find the number of atoms in a formula, multiply the coefficient by the subscript. If an element appears in more than one formula on one side, add all of those atoms together.

Balancing a chemical equation means changing coefficients, not the formulas themselves. Fractions can be used as temporary coefficients during balancing. For the reaction of ethane with oxygen, carbon and hydrogen are balanced first by placing 2 in front of carbon dioxide and 3 in front of water. That leaves 7 oxygen atoms on the product side, so oxygen gets a fractional coefficient of 7/2. The final equation is then multiplied by 2 to turn all coefficients into whole numbers without changing the balance.
