Schwarzschild Radius and Event Horizon

Ein imaginäres Projektil, das von der Sonnenoberfläche abgefeuert wird, würde eine Geschwindigkeit von 618 km/s benötigen, um dem Schwerefeld der Sonne zu entkommen.

Die kugelförmige Oberfläche, die das Schwarze Loch im Schwarzschildradius umgibt, ist als Ereignishorizont bekannt, in dem die Fluchtgeschwindigkeit größer als die Lichtgeschwindigkeit ist.

Die minimale Geschwindigkeit, die erforderlich ist, um ein Projektil von der Oberfläche eines Objekts, an das es gravitativ gebunden ist, abzufeuern, so dass es letztendlich aus dem gravitativen Feld des Objekts entkommt, wird Fluchtgeschwindigkeit genannt. Die Fluchtgeschwindigkeit ist unabhängig von der Masse des Objekts. Durch die Verbindung der Idee der Fluchtgeschwindigkeit mit der maximalen Geschwindigkeit, mit der Materie reisen kann, ergeben sich die Konzepte des Schwarzschild-Radius, Schwarzen Löchern und Ereignishorizonten.

Wenn ein Objekt ausreichend dicht ist, kollabiert es in sich selbst und ist von einem Ereignishorizont umgeben, dem nichts entkommen kann. Der Name für ein solches Objekt, "Schwarzes Loch", wurde 1969 vom Astronomen John Wheeler geprägt. Er bezieht sich auf die Tatsache, dass selbst das Licht einem solchen Objekt nicht entkommen kann. Karl Schwarzschild war 1916 die erste Person, die dieses Phänomen bemerkte, aber zu dieser Zeit wurde es als mathematische Kuriosität angesehen.

Escape velocity helps explain how black holes and event horizons form. It is the minimum speed a projectile needs to leave the surface of an object and eventually escape its gravitational field. In this context, escape velocity does not depend on the mass of the object being launched.

The key idea is that no object with finite mass can move faster than the speed of light in a vacuum. When escape velocity is compared with that speed limit, the Schwarzschild radius becomes important. If an object is dense enough, it can collapse under its own gravity and form an event horizon. Nothing can escape from inside that boundary.

An object like this is called a black hole. The name was coined by astronomer John Wheeler in 1969, and it describes the fact that even light cannot get out. Karl Schwarzschild first described this phenomenon in 1916, but it was then treated as a mathematical curiosity.

Black holes cannot be seen directly because light does not leave the event horizon. Even so, there is strong evidence that they exist in the universe. Astronomers study their effects on nearby stars and on matter falling toward them to infer their presence.
