Cyclic Processes And Isolated Systems

Ein System, das keine Wärme austauscht und keine Arbeit an seiner Umgebung ausführt, wird als isoliertes System bezeichnet. Die Änderung der inneren Energie für solche Systeme ist Null.
In nicht isolierten Systemen kann die innere Energie nur dann konstant sein, wenn der befolgte Prozess zyklisch ist.
Nehmen wir an, dass ein thermodynamisches System, wie die Luft in der Lunge, bei Anfangsdruck und -volumen, expandiert in einen neuen Endzustand, in einem thermodynamischen Prozess in seinen Ausgangszustand zurückkehrt. Ein solcher Prozess wird als zyklischer Prozess bezeichnet. 
Bei diesem Prozess bleibt die innere Energie des Gases konstant, so dass die geleistete Arbeit dem Nettowärmeübergang entspricht.
In einem pV-Diagramm wird ein solcher zyklischer Prozess durch einen geschlossenen Pfad dargestellt. Angenommen, die Arbeit, die auf dem ersten Pfad ausgeführt wird, ist W1, und die Arbeit, die auf dem zweiten Pfad ausgeführt wird, ist W2. Das Netz, das in einem zyklischen Prozess geleistet wird, wird durch den Bereich zwischen diesen beiden geschlossenen Pfaden dargestellt.
Er ist positiv, wenn der Prozess einem Zyklus im Uhrzeigersinn folgt, und negativ, wenn er einem Zyklus gegen den Uhrzeigersinn folgt.

Im Falle eines nicht isolierten Systems ist die Änderung der inneren Energie nur dann null, wenn der Prozess zyklisch ist. Ein thermodynamischer Prozess gilt als zyklisch, wenn das System eine Reihe von Veränderungen durchläuft und zu seinem Ausgangszustand zurückkehrt.

Betrachten Sie einen zyklischen Prozess, der zu seinem Ausgangszustand zurückkehrt und einen vierstufigen Prozess durchläuft. Der Wärmeaustausch entlang jeder Strecke beträgt 40 J, -80 J, -20 J und 100 J. Welche Gesamtarbeit wird für diesen Prozess geleistet?

Da die Änderung der inneren Energie null ist, entspricht die Gesamtarbeit der Nettowärmeübertragung. Die Nettowärmeübertragung ist die Summe der Wärmeübertragung für jede Strecke, die 40 J beträgt. Daher beträgt die Gesamtarbeit 40 J.

Die positive Gesamtarbeit bedeutet, dass die Arbeit, die vom System geleistet wird, größer ist als die Arbeit, die am System geleistet wird. Die dem System zugeführte Wärmeenergie wird vom System zur Durchführung der externen Arbeit verwendet.

A cyclic thermodynamic process returns a system to its initial state. In a cycle, the change in internal energy is zero. An isolated system is different because it has zero heat exchange and zero work, so its internal energy stays constant.

For a non-isolated system, the internal energy change is zero only when the process is cyclic. The first law of thermodynamics relates internal energy, heat transfer, and work. It states that the change in internal energy is the difference between the net heat transferred into the system and the net work done by the system.

The example here uses a four-step cyclic process. The heat transfer along the four paths is 40 J, -80 J, -20 J, and 100 J. The question is to find the net work done for the full cycle. The net heat transfer is the sum of the heat for each step, which is 40 J.

Because the process is cyclic, the change in internal energy is zero. That means the net work done equals the net heat transfer. So the net work done is 40 J. This positive value means the system does more work than work done on it. The heat energy supplied to the system is used to do external work.
