Der Mörtel wird in Stufen ausgebracht, die als Lifte bezeichnet werden und sich auf die Menge des Mörtels beziehen, die in einem kontinuierlichen Verfahren abgelagert wird, sei es durch manuell betriebene Schaufelpumpen oder mechanische Pumpen.
Die Bewehrung wird um Mauerwerksöffnungen, auf Fundamenten und zur Verbindung von Böden und Decken verwendet.
Die Befestigungen für die Befestigung der Decke können direkt an der Wand verschraubt oder mit mechanischen Ankern befestigt werden, die in den Wandhohlraum eingelassen und verfugt werden.
Der Bau von Hochhäusern mit dünneren Wänden kann mit bewehrtem Ziegelmauerwerk realisiert werden.

Reinforced Brick Masonry

Bewehrtes Ziegelmauerwerk ist eine fortschrittliche Bautechnik, die die strukturelle Integrität von Ziegelwänden durch den Einbau von Stahlverstärkungen verbessert. Diese Verstärkungen werden entweder in die Hohlkerne der Ziegel gelegt oder zwischen zwei Mauerwerksschichten, den sogenannten Mauerwerksschichten, eingelegt und dann mit Mörtel an Ort und Stelle befestigt. Mörtel ist eine flüssige Mischung aus Portlandzement, Zuschlagstoffen und Wasser, die das notwendige Bindemittel für Stahl und Ziegel bereitstellt.

Um Ziegelwände effektiv zu verstärken, werden verformte Stahlbewehrungsstäbe in die Kragenfugen oder die Hohlkerne der Ziegel eingebettet. Diese Verstärkungsstrategie umfasst sowohl vertikale als auch horizontale Stahlstäbe. Vertikale Stäbe müssen einen Mindestdurchmesser von 1,90 Zentimetern haben und in gleichmäßigen Abständen von höchstens 121,92 Zentimetern angebracht sein, insbesondere bei Wänden, die länger sind und zusätzliche Festigkeit erfordern.

Der Verfugungsprozess umfasst mehrere Schritte, die als Hebevorgänge bezeichnet werden. Dabei wird der Mörtel entweder manuell oder durch mechanische Pumpen methodisch aufgetragen, um eine gründliche Abdeckung und Bindung zu gewährleisten. Diese Verstärkung ist um strukturelle Öffnungen, auf Fundament- und Brüstungsmauern und in Verbindungselementen des Gebäudes wie Böden und Dächern von entscheidender Bedeutung.

Darüber hinaus können Vorrichtungen zur Sicherung von Boden- und Dachkonstruktionen direkt an verstärkte Mauerwände geschraubt oder mithilfe mechanischer Anker befestigt werden, die in die Wandhohlräume eingebettet und verfugt werden. Diese Methode ermöglicht den Bau von Hochhäusern mit dünneren, aber dennoch robusten Mauerwänden und erweitert so die architektonischen Möglichkeiten.

Steel-reinforced brick wall construction uses steel bars and grout to make masonry walls stronger. The steel can be placed inside the hollow cores of bricks or between two layers of masonry called wythes. Grout, a fluid mix of Portland cement, aggregate, and water, holds the steel and brick together.

Deformed steel reinforcement bars are set in the collar joints or in the hollow cores of the bricks. The system includes both vertical and horizontal steel bars. Vertical bars must be at least three-fourths of an inch in diameter, and they are spaced at regular intervals that do not exceed 48 inches in longer walls.

The grouting process is completed in stages called lifts. During each lift, grout is placed by hand or with mechanical pumps so it can fill the wall and bond well around the steel. This reinforcement is especially important around openings, on foundation walls and parapet walls, and where floors and roofs connect to the structure.

Reinforced masonry also makes it easier to attach building parts. Floor and roof fixtures can be bolted directly to the wall. They can also be connected with mechanical anchors that are placed in the wall cavities and grouted in place. This method allows high-rise buildings to use thinner masonry walls while still staying strong.
