Der Niet wird in einer Schmiede auf weiße Hitze erhitzt, heiß durch die Löcher in den Verbindungselementen gesteckt und dann mit einem Presslufthammer so geformt, dass er einen zweiten Kopf gegenüber dem ersten bildet
In der Regel werden Schrauben in Löcher eingesetzt, die ein Sechzehntel Zoll breiter sind als der Schraubendurchmesser. Unterlegscheiben aus gehärtetem Stahl werden häufig unter einem oder beiden Enden der Schraube platziert, bevor die Mutter angeschraubt wird.
Die Schrauben werden in der Regel entweder mit einem pneumatischen oder einem elektrischen Schlagschrauber festgezogen.
Beim Schweißen entsteht ein elektrisches Potential zwischen den Stahlteilen, die zum Fügen bestimmt sind, und einer Metallelektrode.
Wenn die Elektrode in der Nähe der Naht der Stahlteile positioniert wird, bildet sie einen kontinuierlichen Lichtbogen, der einen bestimmten Bereich sowohl der Stahlelemente als auch der Spitze der Elektrode schmilzt und eine geschmolzene Pfütze erzeugt
Die Elektrode wird nach und nach entlang der Naht bewegt, wodurch eine durchgehende Metallperle abgeschieden wird, die sich verfestigt und eine nahtlose Verbindung zwischen den Stahlteilen bildet.

Unterlegscheiben werden oft unter die Schraubenköpfe oder Muttern gelegt, um die Last zu verteilen und Schäden am Stahl zu vermeiden. Die Schrauben werden mit pneumatischen oder elektrischen Schlagschraubern festgezogen, um einen sicheren Sitz zu gewährleisten.

Beim Schweißen entsteht eine starke, nahtlose Verbindung, indem die Stahlstücke an der Kontaktstelle geschmolzen werden. Zwischen einer Metallelektrode und den Stahlprofilen wird ein Lichtbogen erzeugt. Dieser Lichtbogen schmilzt die Spitze der Elektrode und die angrenzenden Stahloberflächen und bildet eine Schmelzebad. Die Elektrode wird schrittweise entlang der Naht bewegt und hinterlässt einen kontinuierlichen Metallwulst, der erstarrt und eine durchgehende, haltbare Verbindung bildet.

Steel sections are joined with rivets, bolts, or welding. Each method fits different structural needs and working conditions. These fastening techniques help assemble strong steel structures in practical ways.

Riveting uses cylindrical steel fasteners with a specially designed head. The rivets are heated until white-hot and then placed through pre-drilled holes in the steel sections. A pneumatic hammer shapes the exposed end into a second head, which locks the pieces together.

Bolting is another common method for joining steel. The bolt holes are slightly larger than the bolt diameter, usually by one-sixteenth inch. Hardened steel washers are often placed under the bolt heads or nuts to spread the load and reduce damage to the steel. The bolts are then tightened with pneumatic or electric impact wrenches for a secure fit.

Welding creates a strong, seamless joint by melting the steel at the contact point. An electric arc forms between a metal electrode and the steel sections. The arc melts the electrode tip and the nearby steel surfaces, creating a molten puddle. As the electrode moves along the seam, it deposits molten metal that solidifies into a continuous, durable bond.
