Ifrs Adoption

IFRS adoption is the process by which an organization or jurisdiction begins preparing financial statements under International Financial Reporting Standards rather than an existing national accounting framework. It works by identifying differences between IFRS and local GAAP, evaluating their effects on recognition, measurement, presentation, and disclosure, and recording transition adjustments under applicable requirements. Implementation typically also involves revising accounting policies, data systems, internal controls, and staff procedures so reporting consistently reflects the new framework. In accounting, IFRS adoption can improve comparability across companies and countries, support cross-border investment and consolidation, and provide more consistent information for lenders, regulators, and other users, although the transition may require substantial resources and judgment.
