Cardiovascular Disease Therapy

Cardiovascular disease therapy encompasses medical, surgical, and bioengineered interventions that prevent, manage, or repair disorders of the heart and blood vessels. Treatments work by modifying disease drivers such as abnormal blood pressure, clot formation, or impaired blood flow, or by replacing and restoring damaged cardiovascular structures. In bioengineering, biomaterials, targeted drug delivery systems, implantable devices, and tissue-engineered grafts support more precise and durable therapies. These approaches can improve circulation, reduce complications, and advance personalized care while providing research models for evaluating treatment safety, performance, and long-term integration with the body.

Psychoneuroimmunology: Cardiovascular Disease

2025

Psychoneuroimmunology (PNI) is a multidisciplinary field that examines how psychological factors, particularly stress, interact with the immune system and impact physical health. Research in PNI has shown that chronic or traumatic stress can disrupt both the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal axis and the sympathetic nervous system. These disruptions contribute to serious health conditions, including cardiovascular diseases. A key area of focus in PNI is the relationship between stress and coronary...
