Clinical Workflow Compatibility

Clinical workflow compatibility is the capacity of a medical technology, software system, or engineered process to fit safely and effectively into the sequence of tasks performed by healthcare professionals. It depends on how the design aligns with existing procedures, user roles, information exchange, timing, and clinical decision-making rather than requiring disruptive changes to practice. Engineers assess compatibility through workflow mapping, user feedback, interoperability testing, and evaluation of usability, safety, and operational performance. This approach supports the development and implementation of devices, diagnostic systems, electronic health tools, and automation that integrate into real care environments, reduce process errors, and improve efficiency without compromising clinical responsibilities.

Source: Robert M. Rioux & Taslima A. Zaman, Pennsylvania State University, University Park, PA While the use of various chemicals in experimental research is essential, it is also important to safely store and maintain them as a part of the Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) program. The properties of chemicals and their reactivity vary broadly and if chemicals are not managed, stored, and labeled properly, they can have harmful or even destructive consequences such as toxic fume...

A High-throughput Compatible Assay to Evaluate Drug Efficacy against Macrophage Passaged Mycobacterium tuberculosis
