Dual-direction Street

A dual-direction street is a roadway designed to carry traffic in two opposing directions, providing a basic framework for urban mobility and network connectivity. It operates by separating opposing vehicle streams through lane arrangement, centerline markings, signs, and, where needed, medians or turn lanes; intersections use traffic signals, signs, and right-of-way rules to coordinate crossing and turning movements. In engineering, its design requires balancing lane capacity, access, pedestrian and cyclist movement, parking, drainage, and emergency operations within the available corridor. Well-planned dual-direction streets support reliable circulation while reducing conflict points and clarifying how different road users share space.

Establishment of a Rat Model for Intrauterine Adhesions via Dual Injury: Curettage and Infection

2025

Intrauterine adhesions (IUAs), the most common pathological consequence of endometrial injury, severely impair reproductive function. Trauma and infection are widely recognized as key risk factors for IUA development. We have successfully established a reproducible rat model of IUAs by combining two critical injury methods: mechanical curettage and infectious induction with lipopolysaccharide.

Directing Effect of Substituents: meta-Directing Groups

2025

Substituents on the benzene ring that direct an incoming electrophile to undergo substitution at the meta position are called meta directors. All meta directors either have a positive charge on the atom directly bonded to the ring or a partial positive charge. These groups function by withdrawing electrons from the ring through inductive and resonance effects. Consider the carbocation intermediates formed upon the addition of an electrophile on nitrobenzene at the ortho, meta, and para...

Dual Fluorescence Imaging to Identify Differentiated Oligodendrocytes

Source: Schott, J. T., et al. Preparation of Rat Oligodendrocyte Progenitor Cultures and Quantification of Oligodendrogenesis Using Dual-infrared Fluorescence Scanning. J. Vis. Exp. (2016). This video demonstrates the use of dual fluorescence imaging to evaluate the differentiation of oligodendrocytes from precursor cells (OPCs) isolated from a rat pup brain. The process includes fixing the cells, labeling specific markers with primary and fluorophore-conjugated secondary antibodies, and...
