Direct Distribution

Direct distribution is a marketing and sales approach in which producers sell products or services directly to customers without relying on independent intermediaries such as wholesalers, distributors, or retailers. It works through channels including company-owned stores, e-commerce websites, sales representatives, catalogs, and direct-to-consumer platforms, allowing firms to manage pricing, product presentation, transactions, and customer communication more closely. This model can strengthen brand relationships, provide first-hand market data, and improve control over the customer experience, although the company must assume greater responsibility for promotion, inventory, fulfillment, and customer service. Direct distribution is widely used in retail, software, subscription services, and specialized business markets.
