Real-time Ultrasound Guidance

Real-time ultrasound guidance is the use of continuously updated ultrasound images to visualize anatomy and direct medical procedures as they occur. A transducer emits high-frequency sound waves and converts returning echoes into moving images, allowing clinicians to identify target structures, monitor needle or instrument position, and adapt technique immediately. In medicine, this approach supports procedures such as vascular access, regional anesthesia, biopsies, drainage, and targeted injections, while helping avoid nearby organs, vessels, and nerves. By providing bedside, radiation-free visualization, real-time ultrasound guidance can improve procedural precision, support safer decision-making, and connect anatomical assessment with immediate intervention.

Real Time RT-PCR

2021

Real-time reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction, or Real-time RT-PCR, is an analytical tool used to determine the expression level of target genes. The method involves converting mRNA to complementary DNA with the help of an enzyme known as reverse transcriptase, followed by the PCR amplification of the cDNA. These two processes can be performed simultaneously in a single tube or separately as a two-step reaction. The real-time quantification of the number of amplified products is...
