Time-Series Graph

Los datos cuantitativos recopilados en diferentes puntos de tiempo se denominan datos de series temporales. 
Por ejemplo, considere el aumento de la temperatura del agua cuando se calienta. Estos conjuntos de datos con un factor de tiempo se pueden visualizar utilizando el gráfico de series temporales.

Un gráfico de series de tiempo es un gráfico de líneas con mediciones repetidas tomadas en intervalos de tiempo sucesivos. También se le llama diagrama de series de tiempo. Para construir un gráfico de series de tiempo, se deben observar ambas partes de un conjunto de datos en pareja. El eje horizontal se utiliza para trazar los incrementos de tiempo y el eje vertical se utiliza para trazar los valores de la variable que se está midiendo. Al utilizar los ejes de esta manera, cada punto del gráfico corresponderá al tiempo y a una cantidad medida. Los puntos del gráfico suelen estar conectados por líneas rectas en el orden en que aparecen.

Los gráficos de series de tiempo son herramientas importantes en diversas aplicaciones estadísticas. Cuando se registran valores de la misma variable durante un período prolongado, a veces es difícil discernir alguna tendencia o patrón. A time-series graph shows repeated measurements taken at successive intervals of time. It is also called a time series chart. This type of line graph helps organize data that changes over time.

To build a time-series graph, use both parts of a paired data set. Plot the time increments on the horizontal axis. Plot the measured values on the vertical axis. Each point then shows one time and one quantity, and the points are usually connected with straight lines in the order they occur.

Time-series graphs are useful in statistics because they make patterns easier to see. When the same variable is recorded over a long period, it can be hard to notice a trend from the raw numbers alone. A graph can bring those features into view and make trends easy to spot.
