Pareto Chart

Considere los datos sobre el número de casos de COVID-19 en diferentes países. 
Supongamos que uno quiere saber el país con mayor o menor número de pacientes con COVID. En ese caso, pueden utilizar el diagrama de Pareto para visualizar los datos dados. 
Un diagrama de Pareto es un gráfico de barras modificado. En este gráfico, las barras están dispuestas en orden descendente de izquierda a derecha. 
Aquí, las categorías, es decir, los diferentes países, se presentan en el eje horizontal. Las frecuencias se representan en el eje vertical. Una barra encima de cada categoría indica las frecuencias de pacientes con COVID para cada país. 
En el gráfico, se puede ver que el país E tiene el mayor número de pacientes con COVID y el país F tiene el menor número de pacientes. 
Por lo tanto, los diagramas de Pareto son una herramienta útil para visualizar grandes conjuntos de datos.

Un diagrama de Pareto es un gráfico de barras o una combinación de gráficos de líneas y de barras. Las longitudes de las barras representan los valores individuales o la frecuencia, mientras que las líneas representan los valores totales acumulados. En este gráfico, las barras más largas están dispuestas a la izquierda y las barras más cortas a la derecha, lo que facilita la lectura e interpretación de los datos. También se le puede llamar diagrama de Pareto o análisis de Pareto.

El diagrama de Pareto lleva el nombre del economista italiano Vilfredo Pareto, quien describió el principio de Pareto. Según este principio, aproximadamente el 80% de los resultados se pueden rastrear a partir del 20% de las condiciones de muchos eventos. Por ejemplo, al calcular la población de cualquier país, al predecir los defectos en las divisiones de control de calidad, al analizar los beneficios empresariales, se utiliza esta suposición. En pocas palabras, el diagrama de Pareto ayuda a proporcionar información estadística sobre detalles masivos para cada categoría. Por tanto, es una herramienta valiosa en estadística.

A Pareto chart is a bar graph used to rank data by size or frequency. It can also combine bars with a line graph. In the chart, the bar lengths show the individual values or how often each category appears, and the line shows the cumulative total.

The bars are arranged from longest on the left to shortest on the right. This order makes the data easier to read and interpret. A Pareto chart is also called a Pareto diagram or Pareto analysis.

The chart is named after the Italian economist Vilfredo Pareto. He described the Pareto principle, which suggests that in many cases about 80% of the outcomes come from 20% of the conditions. This idea is used in situations such as calculating a country’s population, predicting defects in quality control, and analyzing business profit.

Overall, the Pareto chart helps provide statistical information about the main details in each category. That makes it a useful tool in statistics when comparing the biggest causes or results first.
