Newton's Law of Motion

El movimiento o la quietud de un objeto se puede explicar utilizando las leyes del movimiento de Newton.
La primera ley establece que un objeto en reposo permanece en reposo y un objeto en movimiento permanece en movimiento a una velocidad y dirección constantes, a menos que actúe sobre él una fuerza desequilibrada.

Pensemos en un hombre con un carro. Cuando aplica fuerza al carro, el carro se mueve en la dirección de la fuerza aplicada.
La tercera ley establece que para cada acción, hay una reacción igual y opuesta.
Cuando un automóvil en movimiento golpea un camión estacionado, ejerce una fuerza igual y opuesta sobre el automóvil.

Newton's laws explain everyday motion and the forces that change it. These three laws describe why objects move, stay still, or speed up. They also show how force and mass affect motion.

Newton's first law is the law of inertia. It says an object at rest stays at rest, and an object in motion keeps moving at a constant speed and direction unless an external force acts on it. A sliding box that slows down on its own is a good example. In that case, friction is the net external force that works against the box and reduces its motion.

Newton's second law applies when velocity changes. It describes how an object responds to an unbalanced force. The law states that acceleration is directly proportional to the applied force and inversely proportional to mass. If a person hits a ball, the ball accelerates more when the force is larger.

Newton's third law is the law of action and reaction. It states that for every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction. A person on roller skates who throws a ball forward will move backward. Newton's laws are useful in the real macroscopic world. They help scientists design structures and machines that can withstand external forces, and they can also be used to calculate the motion of celestial objects and rockets.
