Newton's Law of Gravitational Attraction

La ley de la atracción gravitacional de Newton establece que cuando dos partículas de masas m1 y m2 están separadas por una distancia r, se atraen entre sí con fuerzas iguales y opuestas.
La fuerza de atracción actúa a lo largo de la línea que une las partículas y varía directamente como el producto de sus masas e inversamente como el cuadrado de la distancia entre ellas, donde G es la constante universal conocida como constante gravitatoria.
La fuerza de atracción gravitacional ejercida por la Tierra sobre un objeto es el peso del objeto. Es el producto de la masa del objeto y la aceleración debida a la gravedad, expresada en newton.
Los separadores de gravedad, los martillos de caída y los transportadores de gravedad son algunas herramientas mecánicas que funcionan según el principio de la ley de gravitación de Newton.
Considere el proceso de forjado con martillo de caída. Aquí, el martillo de un peso específico se eleva a una cierta altura y luego se deja caer libremente.

El señor Isaac Newton estableció la universalidad de la ley de atracción gravitacional basándose en evidencia empírica y razonamiento inductivo. Publicó su trabajo en Philosophiae Naturalis Principia Mathematica ("el Principia") el 5 de julio de 1687. La ley de atracción gravitacional de Newton es una ley fundamental de la física que rige la atracción entre objetos. Establece que la magnitud de la fuerza gravitacional entre dos objetos es proporcional a sus masas e inversamente proporcional al cuadrado de la distancia entre ellos. La gravedad es más fuerte entre objetos con mayor masa. Cada par de cuerpos experimenta fuerzas gravitacionales. Una de las aplicaciones más comunes de esta ley es nuestra comprensión del movimiento de los planetas en el sistema solar. La fuerza gravitacional entre los planetas y el sol es responsable de su movimiento alrededor del sol. También explica fenómenos como las mareas causadas por la fuerza gravitacional de la luna sobre la Tierra. Otro ejemplo en el que se utiliza esta ley es en el diseño de montañas rusas. Los carritos de las montañas rusas se ponen en movimiento con una cadena de elevación que proporciona la fuerza inicial para subir la primera cuesta empinada. Una vez en la cima, la gravedad hace que el carrito baje por la pista a través de una serie de giros, vueltas y descensos. La ley universal de la gravitación es significativa porque ha tenido éxito en explicar muchos fenómenos, como cómo diferentes objetos en el universo macroscópico se afectan entre sí, cómo la gravedad es responsable del peso de un cuerpo y nos mantiene en el suelo, cómo la luna se mueve alrededor de la Tierra, cómo ocurre el movimiento del planeta, la generación de fuerzas de marea, y así sucesivamente.

Newton’s law of gravitational attraction describes how gravity acts between two objects. Sir Isaac Newton built this law from empirical evidence and inductive reasoning. He published it in Philosophiae Naturalis Principia Mathematica, or the Principia, on July 5, 1687.

The law says that the gravitational force between any two objects depends on their masses and their distance apart. The force is proportional to mass and inversely proportional to the square of the distance between the objects. In simple terms, larger masses create stronger gravity, while greater distance weakens the force.

Every pair of bodies experiences gravitational force. This law helps explain the motion of the planets in the solar system. The pull between the Sun and the planets keeps them moving around the Sun.

Newton’s law also explains tides on Earth. The Moon’s gravitational force on Earth produces tidal forces. The same idea helps describe roller coasters, too. A chain lift hill gives the cart its initial motion up the first steep hill, and then gravity pulls it down through turns, loops, and drops.

This universal law of gravitation is important because it explains many large-scale effects in the macroscopic universe. It accounts for a body’s weight and helps keep us on the ground. It also describes the Moon’s motion around Earth, planetary motion, and the generation of tides.
