La potencia es la velocidad a la que se realiza el trabajo. La fórmula de la potencia se puede reorganizar para obtener el trabajo realizado si se conoce la potencia de salida durante un proceso.
Si la potencia de salida cambia en función del tiempo, el trabajo realizado es la integral de la potencia durante ese período de tiempo y, por lo tanto, el área bajo la curva da el valor del trabajo realizado.
Cuando se aplica una fuerza constante sobre un objeto, la potencia del objeto se puede expresar en términos de la fuerza que actúa sobre él y el desplazamiento cubierto por el objeto.
