Annotated Radiographs

Annotated radiographs are X-ray images labeled or marked to identify anatomical structures, abnormalities, or regions of interest, making visual findings easier to interpret and analyze. Annotations may use points, contours, bounding regions, or textual labels placed on the image by trained reviewers or generated with image-analysis software; these markings connect visible patterns with standardized information for comparison. In cancer research, annotated radiographs support lesion detection, measurement, image-based classification, and the development and evaluation of computer-aided analysis methods, while also providing teaching materials and reference data for consistent interpretation across studies.

Genome Annotation and Assembly

2021

The genome refers to all of the genetic material in an organism. It can range from a few million base pairs in microbial cells to several billion base pairs in many eukaryotic organisms. Genome assembly refers to the process of taking the DNA sequencing data and putting it all back together in a correct order to create a close representation of the original genome. This is followed by the identification of functional elements on the newly assembled genome, a process called genome annotation.

Here, we present a protocol to assess glycemic control using capillary blood glucose (CBG) and glycated hemoglobin A1C (HbA1C) levels. This study investigates the impact of hyperglycemia on knee osteoarthritis (KOA) symptoms, physical performance, physical activity level, radiographic severity, and inflammation in older adults with diabetes.
