Business Valuation

Business valuation is the process of estimating a company’s economic worth, an essential activity in finance for informed investment, lending, reporting, and transaction decisions. Analysts typically combine approaches such as discounted cash flow, which converts projected future cash flows into present value, and market-based methods that compare the business with similar companies or transactions. Valuation also considers revenue, profitability, assets, liabilities, growth prospects, risk, and industry conditions. The resulting estimate supports mergers and acquisitions, fundraising, financial planning, taxation, and dispute resolution, while helping stakeholders assess whether a proposed price reflects the company’s underlying performance and future potential.
