In marketing, it typically moves from requirement definition and market research through supplier sourcing, competitive evaluation, negotiation, contracting, purchasing, and performance monitoring, with criteria such as capability, compliance, timing, and value guiding decisions. Effective marketing procurement supports the acquisition of agencies, media, technology, research, and promotional materials while improving budget control, transparency, supplier relationships, and campaign delivery.
