Stroma Injury Prevention

Stroma injury prevention is the clinical practice of protecting an organ’s supportive connective tissue from mechanical, chemical, infectious, or inflammatory damage. It works by identifying tissue-specific risks, reducing unnecessary trauma during procedures, maintaining appropriate hydration and perfusion, and controlling inflammation before it triggers cellular injury, edema, or fibrosis. In medicine, these measures help preserve the structure and function of tissues such as the cornea, skin, and organ grafts, where stromal damage can impair healing and reduce performance. Applying prevention strategies can improve procedural safety, limit scarring, and support more predictable recovery, while also guiding the development of protective techniques and regenerative treatments.

2025

Accurate diagnosis and effective prevention are critical in managing Acute Kidney Injury (AKI), which is linked to high mortality rates ranging from 10% to 80%. Timely recognition of at-risk patients and careful monitoring can significantly reduce the likelihood of kidney damage.Diagnostic Assessments:The diagnostic process starts with a comprehensive medical history to identify prerenal, intrarenal, and postrenal causes.Prerenal causes, such as dehydration, hypotension, or blood loss, should...

Protein Transport to the Stroma

2023

Chloroplasts are triple membrane structures with an outer membrane, an inner membrane, and a thylakoid membrane, each containing distinct metabolite transporters, membrane translocons, and enzymes. Appropriate sorting and translocating these proteins to their correct membrane systems is essential for chloroplast function. Protein complexes called the translocon of the outer chloroplast membrane or TOC complex, and the translocon of the inner chloroplast membrane or TIC complex mediate the...

Several factors can increase the risk of cancer in an individual. About 50% of cancer cases can be prevented by adopting a healthy lifestyle, regular exercise, eating healthy, and following a modest cancer prevention diet. Epidemiological studies have consistently shown that populations with vegetable and fruit-rich diets have reduced the incidence of cancer. On the other hand, populations who have a diet rich in animal fat, red meat, junk food, or high calories are predisposed to cancer. Some...

A novel technique to create a reproducible in vivo model of cervical spinal cord laceration injury in the mouse is described. This technique is based on spine stabilization by fixation of the cervical facets and laceration of the spinal cord using an oscillating blade with an accuracy of ±0.01 mm.
