In-depth Interviews

In-depth interviews are qualitative research methods that use guided, open-ended conversations to obtain detailed accounts of people’s experiences, beliefs, and perspectives. A researcher follows a flexible interview guide while asking probing questions, clarifying responses, and adapting the discussion to the participant’s answers, producing rich narrative data rather than standardized numerical measurements. In psychology, this approach can illuminate how individuals interpret events, describe emotional or behavioral processes, and make sense of personal or social contexts. Researchers analyze interview transcripts thematically or through other qualitative methods to identify patterns, generate hypotheses, and complement findings from surveys and experimental studies.

Uniform Depth Channel Flow

2025

Uniform depth channel flow keeps fluid depth consistent along channels such as irrigation canals. In natural channels, such as rivers, approximate uniform flow is often assumed. This condition occurs when the channel’s bottom slope matches the energy slope, balancing potential energy lost from gravity with head loss due to shear stress. This balance prevents depth changes along the channel length, resulting in a steady, uniform flow.Uniform flow in open channels with a constant cross-section...
